shear bands in calcsilicate

Shear zones

Calcsilicates (top and bottom) of the Camel Hills metamorphics, with an age of appr. 2000 Ma. The deformation fabric is a weak steep foliation and weak subhorizontal E-W trending lineation in calcsilicate. A granite vein (centre) is affected by ductile dextral D1-shear bands, which grade into brittle dextral shear fractures in the calcsilicate. Granite is of Wooramel or Moorarie age. Width of view 1m
